Golden Gate Bridge

Where little Cable Cars climb half way to the stars.

San Francisco Cable Cars were such a blast to ride. While I did not elect to hang off the side, I experienced the excitement from the back of the car...like a Disney ride for sure.

Back from San Francisco and what a blast. Dana, Bryan and I did the city from top to bottom in one day. We missed a bunch but we did see was awesome. We started with a drive around town and around and around (ok...we had a small directional problem).

The running joke got to be, "Look kids; it's Alcatraz!" (our paraphrase of Chevy Chase). We lunched in Sausalito, toured the Presidio, visited the Golden Gate Bridge, rode the cable car, visited China Town, hit Fisherman's Wharf, saw the WWII ships, and Pier 39, grabbed a quick bite on the Wharf and off to the airport for the red eye back to Paradise.

I loved San Fran when I was there in the 80s and this visit just confirmed that I love the City by the Bay!

I Miss Fall

I can't wait until we go back up north this October. I want crisp mornings, frosty nights, plump pumpkins and corn husks. Doing this layout sure helped. I want to walk the cobblestoned streets of Old Town, drink spiced cider and shop the cute shops. I am also looking forward to our friends', Chuck and Linda, wedding while we are home. And I can't forget the annual wine tour with our friends.

I always get homesick for fall. Now, winter on the other hand...lol.

Rough Day in Paradise

I've been up since 5:30 a.m. and working on my Sat. class since 6. It is now 7:30 at night and I am quitting. I had the layouts designed way back in June...two single pagers and a door hanger. Twelve gals signed up but one moaned and groaned about not getting 2 page layouts. Class was postponed the first time so I could add sketches; class was postponed the second time because the papers did not get ordered. Long story short, papers still did not get order and class is Sat. I refuse to postpone again. And, get this...the gal who complained is not even signed up to take the class!!!

As my Mom use to say, "This too shall pass."

snychonisticy

ok...this one took me forever and I am still not sure of the spelling. But, I do know what it means: when people collide who have similar tastes, addictions (sbing, stamping), are driven by the same needs, right?

Well, today I met a kindred spirit and have been blessed by the experience. Our main gal at the lss, Barbi, told me I had to meet this woman who was an incredible scrapper. Barbi said her work was amazing and that she and I would have lots in common. Yeah, right...(me to self thinking the last time someone told me this I was not a happy camper). This is where I do the "mea culpa, mea culpa"! Barbi, you were so right.

It is not often we get the chance to meet others who we click with in the instant. (ah, my Petey, Moni Moni, Twinks, my spiritual advisor, Anne, my pal Janet, the infamous and notorious Kipster, and others who have asked to remain nameless). Today I got to meet Debbie, an amazing artist. I had a great day in the midst of some timing issues about my convention classes.

Life is good!
