Lovely day with lovely ladies

E fixed us mufalatta salad for lunch and everyone brought some treats to share.  We talked and scrapped the day away and it was just what this gal needed.  I worked on some of the projects for my guest design team stint at eclectic Paperie for the month of Oct.  (my first reveal is Wed. ...fyi) and even managed to get one layout done to boot.

Here is the one layout I got done.  I kept it simple so the photo is the focus.  I love this one of our little grand daughter, Leighton, when she was about 5 months old, sound asleep in her car seat.

Tomorrow we take the boys to school and Leighton and I go to Music with Mar.  I have a few finishing touches to add to one of my projects in the afternoon.

Looking forward to cropping at Whim So Doodle in St. Pete with some of the gals this Sat.  I think I need some retail therapy!

It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

The Grands came over today with their mommy to swim but rain interfered once again.  While the day ended with one of the brightest rainbows we have ever seen, it left us housebound with 3 little restless people.

Sometimes events play out and rain comes for a reason.  The Grands had never seen the Great Pumpkin which Papa and I bought just for such an occasion.  So, while Mommy actually had a chance to relax and read a magazine ( a rare event in her life), Nana got to share the Grands first viewing of one of the classics of Halloween, The Great Pumpkin.

We lined up the chairs from the table set we found at the consignment store and had our own movie theater.  I can't wait to show them the holiday films...Rudolph is our favorite.  What is yours?

"Living outside of yourself"

I had lunch today with one of my inspiring friends (Yes! I have several), Glo.  She, Galina and I are in Book Club together and I've known Glo for about six years now.  Galina takes pity on this night blind ol' gal and provides me with transportation and great company to an from our Book Club nights.  Love her.

But today is about Glo.  She has MS but she has taken this by the horns and made it something she does not allow to interfere with her being, her core, her spirit of adventure and lust for life.  Today, she shared with Galina and myself her philosophy of "living outside of yourself".  She believes in being and not allowing her physical to interfere with that.  She recommended a book called, The Art of Doing Nothing and this is one I shall put on my reading list for sure.  She and my friend, Cynthia, who has returned to college at the age of 7* to obtain her master's degree and my heroines.  While Helen Keller, Mother Teresa and Amelia Earhart are all admirable women, give me my friends any day!

Hope you find friends who inspire you, who motivate you and who truly care.  I am blessed to have these women in my life along with countless others who have my back daily and hope they know I have theirs.

There is a saying that says, "Anyone who says they don't need a girlfriend, just hasn't found a good one yet".  My cup over flows.

I'm so bright, I've got to wear shades....

Now to scrap these.  We have more fun on Tues when we take the boys to school and then spend the rest of the morning with Leighton.  Last Tues it was all about the sunglasses.  LOVE these little people.

Quick update from last week

We had a great week with the Grands.  Tues, Leighton and I went to Music with Mar, Wed-Fri, we had Leighton before and after school.  She and I have become the shopping ladies and visited Kohl's (two outfits for her and tees for her brothers), Pier One (some new lotion for Nana) and TJ Maxx (Papa's b'day present).  Because of teachers' meetings on Friday, while Leighton went to school, Landon and Colvin spent the day with us.  We took them grocery shopping and then out to lunch at Loggerheadz to watch and feed the gators in the gator pit.  Later, Nana and Papa, went out to dinner at Casa Ludivio to celebrate Justin's birthday and E's.

So, for my sister who has been requesting more pics of the Grands...here ya go Janet!

The Leighton fashion show.  Wednesday, I asked Leighton if Nana could take some pictures of her and boy! did I ever get a positive response.  And then, we had to view them over and over!
 Snowflake, her favorite doll.

She insists on saying, "Cheese" as do her brothers...lol.

The boys were mesmerized by the gators.  By the way, they are wearing their "I Love My Nana" shirts and their matching green tennies...

 Another "Cheese".

Hopefully, the rain will hold off til later today as the Grands are coming over to help Papa celebrate his 68th. birthday (Sept 14) and they do like to take a dip in the pool.
