Arlene and I met through the old Creating Keepsakes Message board. When we realized how close to each other we lived, we met for lunch, looked through each others scrap albums and have tried to meet for lunch and fun at least once a month. Sometimes we miss a month or two when one of us is out of town and we've both had some health issues.
Yesterday, we met at a great little area on Naples Bay across from Tin City. This place is like a small village with upscale shops and restaurants
on the lower levels and condos on the upper ones. The way the whole 'village' is set up reminded us both of Venice and the whole area feels very 'European".
There is a great gazebo bar called the Cabana and, had it not been so
early in the day, we might have had something frothy with a paper umbrella.
We ate down the street as most of the restaurants in the 'village' appeared to be either closed for lunch or were lacking a menu from which we could chose. Arlene had the Chinese chicken salad and I had the Southern Fried chicken salad. As you can see, the portions were more than generous and the food was delightful. Here is Arlene smiling so nicely and here is me with my usual strange expression on my face.
We finished off our visit with a trip to a cute stamp store down the street where I found some very cool stamps for the Drink of the Day album for my class in May for the Hilltop Memories Cruise .
Today we have house cleaning on our agenda which is lots less exciting than the lovely day I spent with Arlene. We have an Open House (our last until after the holidays) tomorrow. Someone buy this house!!!
Have a good day all!
(p.s. I have updated Jules'Creations and will be posting a bunch of the goodies I've been accumulating for the cruise class).
