Day late and a wine tasting short...

So, after we picked up Just Jack the Cat from the vet and paid off his "bail money", we did some household chores, got spiffied up and headed to Safety Harbor for the Wine Festival. All would have been fine and swell but the festival was for Sat. only and here it was, Sunday afternoon.

All was not lost though. Now we have a festival to plan for next year and we discovered a cute restaurant that E had watched being reviewed just this past week on one of the local early morning shows: The Whistle Stop Restaurant and Bar which is at the end of Main Street (lots of cute shops for about 3 or 4 blocks)near, what else , but the railroad tracks.

We opted to eat out in the courtyard although most of the restaurant is open. We were entertained by a squirrel who ran up and down the huge live oaks and chattered at us. The atmosphere is casually cute, the food good and the beer was cold so 3 of our 4 requirements were met immediately.

We decided to split some of the side dishes and particularly the house specialty, deep fried pickles...yum! The fried green tomatoes were ok....no threat to yours, Miss Elle (who makes the very best I've ever had!)but the black beans and greens were to die for. The chips were home made with a coating of spices that made me sit up and say Oooh la la!

Today is bill paying day (ick) and I need to catch up on laundry so I can scrap this afternoon guilt free! Enjoy your day all!
