Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland

Lisa took some time off from work and drove Clare, E and I to the thermals which E so wanted to see.  And believe me, it was so worth it.  First, Wai-O-Tapu is an excellent place to see the thermals.  The trails are well marked, the sights explained and Lisa highly recommended this over the other thermal parks.  It started raining almost immediately upon our arrival and dear Clare bought us rain ponchos to ward off the wet.  The rain stopped and we spent a wonderful couple of hours here.

On our way out, we were in dire need of some liquid refreshment and substance so we stopped at the local tavern.  Great snacks, cold beer and assorted other drinks.  Thanks Lisa for an amazing afternoon!

You will have to wait til tomorrow to find out all about the gondola ride to dinner that night...
