We fell in love with this little town...Akaroa

And Anne was right.  Somehow I have managed to skip over Port Chalmers and Dunedin...tomorrow for sure.

But, for now, here is one of our favorite stops...this seaside village was settled by the French.  There were lots and lots of small shops, beautiful homes and the flower...be still my heart.

The entire town was filled with yard after yard of beautiful flowers.  It was almost like a contest to see which yard was more lovely than the next.  And the homes were so quaint and perfect.  I could have moved into any one of them!  This is the shop where we bought my peridot necklace and earrings.

Look at this doll house above...yummy.  And below is the library.

We stopped for a bottle of the local wine (vineyard was right across the bay) and a bite to eat before heading back to the ship.

The place we stopped had a great view of the bay and, while the day had been overcast and chilly, it was warm enough to enjoy the outside seating.
This little guy made us home sick for our fellows, Just Jack the Cat and his brother, Goofy.

This was a pretty little village church and the stained glass windows were so wonderous.

Then it was back to the tender out to our ship and onward.  Well, kind of backward since tomorrow I'll post the ports I missed.
