Our friend, Nick, called us this weekend. He and the gang were heading out to enjoy the weather at a couple of the wineries near where they live. Out of nostalgia and, because we will probably not be heading to St. Louis this Oct due to the new house, I pulled up some of our pictures from last fall's visit home.We do have a winery here near us, Eden Winery but it is just not quite the same. There was no live music playing, no groups sitting at tables or lounging on blankets, no one dancing or sharing picnic hampers filled with cheeses and sausages and no smell of fresh baked bread from the vinyard bakeries. And, all the wines are super sweet and made from things like oranges and grapefuit and kiwi...not exactly what we had in mind when we first visited the winery. I confess, we are spoiled by the wonderful wines of Mo.

Your memories of the winery sound so fun and relaxing. I visited my first winery this past weekend and, I must say, the atmosphere was certainly unique. The smells, the view, the music, people dancing and laughing, great friends and family, a FUN time. An evening of making great memories, right Jules?

This is too funny--I posted on my blog this morning about the winery we went to yesterday! And Jules, next time you are in MO you have GOT to go there!! There are four wineries in Ste. Genevieve, so it is definitely worth the fairly short trip down there. And of course, we think this one (Chaumette) is the best, but we're biased, and admit it proudly. So glad you're loving the look of the new house!
