Just another key chain, right?

To me, my key chain is kind of like my silver charm bracelet or my Italian charm bracelet. Nothing goes on it that doesn't mean something to me...my Mo. Cheerleader Coach medallion (nine plus years of coaching), my public library card (my passport to learning and adventure), Hot Mama's remote device (she is my mid life crisis car), the house key (home), and now...my Weight Watcher's 10% key fob. Silly, I know, but this represents a new way of healthy eating to me and without much pain. Years ago, I took off a bunch of weight with WW so I'd look good for a trip to Hawaii. When the trip was over, I just stopped. I lost a bunch of weight when E and I went to Italy for our 10th. Anniversary...and, when the trip was over, I just stopped and that was on South Beach (I so missed my carbs)! But, for reasons I am not 100% certain of, this time is different.

When I told E I was joining WW in ten days, he asked why wait. Well, I was so embarrassed at what I had let my weight climb up to that I told him I wanted to take of 3lbs min. first so I did and then joined. I am not going to use the word 'easy' to describe the process but it has not been so hard. I follow the program but do not deprive myself. I'm learning portion control and the longer on the program, the less of a challenge that is. And, the best part, it works!

Since my decision to join (and my initial 3lb.s on my own) I have lost 21 lbs total. Since joining WW, I have lost 18. Today we set my goal weight at 150. I am moderately tall and larger boned and carry m weight fairly well. At 150, I might even be able to get off these stupid high blood pressure meds. At 150, size 10s will be a trifle big (since I tried on some tens today and got them up over the hips, and zippered and buttoned and could still breathe just not go out in public with them...lol).

One of the questions our leader at WW asked us is why we joined. I had 3 main reasons: health (my high blood pressure), mobility (I love riding my bike, kayaking and now yoga) and I MISS MY CUTE CLOTHES!

So, if this is viewed as tooting my own horn...well, yes I am. I am proud of me! Twenty one down and thirteen to go!

Congratulations once again, Jules...
I,too am a long time weight watcher...I lost 70lbs, way back in the 80's. I managed to keep it off for the better part of 20 years...Then life gets going, and you know how that goes.

I joined WW a few months before my knee surgery last year..managed to lose 25lbs, and maintain that weight loss..However the very dynamic leader we had left and was replaced with one that I just didn't click with. You know how important that leader is!

Last week I started a program at the hospital run by a dietitian...Same principals as WW...we are writing everything down..counting calories, rather than points, and exercising...
I lost 7lbs this week!!!
My goal is also right in that 148-150 range....It is a tough battle...and you have done so well...without depriving yourself of those delicious E creations, and the all important social events!!!!
That was important to me also....my big revelation this week...only 150 calories in a class of chardonnay!!!! Toasting you with that glass....Here's to that goal...and cute clothes!!!!!

Jules - congrats on the healthy eating. As you know I am also on a lifestyle change in eating. It is about balance...balance your food, balance your activity, balance your spirit, balance your emotions and balance your attitude (mental)...when all is in balance it is easy to eat the wau we were intended to eat the great foods that we have available...balance all food groups in balanced portions! Best Wishes on continued success in the lifestyle changes - smoochie gal!
