Happy New Year

I am welcoming in 2010 with open arms. We had some wonderful things happen to us in 2009 (better health, amazing times with most excellent friends, news of the twins), but I am ready for a new door to open and to see what the future holds for us. Change is the only constant,we are told and it is easier to go with the flow than to fight it. We grow older, our likes and dislikes shift, our priorities realign and we face new challenges in ways we had not thought to try but with a large dose of love, the care of friends and family, and working on taking better care of our health, this year is going to be the best!

This is what we had for dinner last night: Gorgonzola stuffed Pork Tenderloin with balsamic Drizzle (thanks Rachel Ray) and potato leek gratin from the William Sonoma Kitchen. My taste buds were doing the happy dance for sure.

We met up earlier in the day with some friends to toast out the old year and then went home to give Jo and Bill (St. Louis friends)the key to their condo that I had picked up for them the day before. They were tired from their long two day drive but it was so good to see them. We've invited them for dinner tonight which is going to be another show stopper. It is only 8:24 am here and E is already slaving away in the kitchen on it. E invited some of our local friends to stop by this morning for Bloody Marys and a light brunch so he'll be busy in the kitchen most of the day.

We'll be watching the Rose Bowl Parade and looking for the Lion's Club float as my friend, Yvonne and her husband are there and very involved with the Lions. This organization did a lot for my sister when she needed glasses so Bravo Lion's Club.

Hope everyone has a wonderful first day of 2010 (sure hope I can remember to write that on the checks I need to make out tomorrow) and that you have 364 more wonderful days to follow!

Ms. Jules,
What you said about yur sister and the Lions Club caught my eye. I am the editor of LION Magazine near Chicago. We are always interested to hear about how Lions have helped people and are doing a story on people who received eyeglasses from Lions. I was hoping you could put your sister in touch with us. Thanks.
