Sunday at Coachman Park

It had been eons since E and I had attended any live concerts so we made a point to set aside Sunday afternoon for the Clearwater Jazz Holiday event in downtown Clearwater. We parked our car at Publix on Island Estates and caught the Jolly Trolley. For a dollar each, we were delivered straight to Coachman Park with no parking hassles. Love the Jolly Trolley!

The first segment that we stayed for on Sunday was the Clearwater Jazz Festival Youth Band. These kids are so talented, it is unreal. You would have thought you were listening to seasoned pros who had been playing jazz for years together instead of kids 13-18. Eric Darius, a local artist now a national pro, played with the kids and did some great solos with his sax. He also has a great voice. and what a dynamite performer.

I love how we could see the Gulf and all the boats from the park.

The second group had lots of people out of their seats and dancing in the grass...Mark Barrios' band, West Tampa Style. Talk about spicy! The Cuban influence was wonderful.

And speaking of the Jolly Trolley, starting in Nov. it will run from Clearwater all the way up to Tarpon Springs with stops at Palm Harbor and Dunedin along the way. E and I don't go to a lot of evening events unless someone else drives as neither of us see well in the dark but now we can go to evening concerts etc. without having to impose on friends all the time as the trolley will run til late! Yeah for the Jolly Trolley!

SHOUT OUT WELCOME to some new readers to my blog: Scottsmoor, Florida, Ypsilanti, Mich., and Raleigh, North Carolina. And a big wave to some of my more frequent visitors from Wesley Chapel and Interlachen, Florida! Thanks to all of your for dropping by!
