Happy New Year

We decided to celebrate New Year's Eve with an early dinner out at Casa Ludovico on Alt. 19, in Palm Harbor.  This is a the lovely restaurant where we have celebrated our anniversary every year since moving to the area.  The old house was decorated so pretty and the staff always goes way out of their way to make each of our visits so very special.

We had been pouring over the on line menu most of the day, making one food choice after another, only to change our minds.  And, of course there were specials which threw a whole new twist into things.

We ended up skipping the salads and heading straight into the appetizers .  Food descriptions are off the Casa Ludovico on line menu! They are far more descriptive than my pictures even.  I am still working my way through my new camera, so please pardon the quality of the photos.  I opted for

Grigliata Portobello

Fresh grilled Portobello mushroom and vegetables with garlic scented olive oil and Balsamic Vinaigrette.

While E ordered

Carpaccio di Manzo Malatesta

Lightly sauteed, thinly sliced, marinated beef with arugula and aged Parmesan.

For a main course, I decided on

Pollo Farcito Ludovico

Roullade of Chicken with Fontina and Prosciutto, topped with asparagus, artichoke, and Portobello mushrooms.

And E went with a veal dish.  Both were incredible and served with a side of pasta.  We ended up using the best Weight Watchers' trick I ever learned and asked for our to go boxes, putting most all of the pasta and half of each of our dinners in them.  What was left was more than enough, believe me

Milanese

Veal Scaloppini lightly breaded and fried, topped with arugula, chopped fresh tomato, and Parmesan.

So, from our home to yours, many good wishes for the New Year !
