Week 29 2014 in Review
This year was a bit different from others but then each year we are here is. I know I am leaving out a lot of pictures but I am doing the best I can to give an over view.
FAVORITE TIMES
Sharing Steve and DeeDee's anniversary here just like we did ten (?) years ago when they bought their unit.
Celebrating Jadee's retirement and Jill's birthday .
All 20 of us at Matanza's for dinner (our Tarpon Springs friends, Susie and Doug joined us for the weekend)
Early morning coffee with Denise Bowden and our newly formed Wine Club Ladies .
Jadee's pina coladas...none better.
Seeing the 3rd generation of my family having the time of their lives.
Watching the kids: Paige, Hanna, Liam, Landon, Colvin and Landon become friends and have such fun together. These times are the ones that are so special.
Catching up with our other Week 29 friends whom we only see once a year some of whom we have known for 20 + .
Glad to see Cheryl and John after if looked like they would not have a unit. And they loved their second floor unit.
Catching up with everyone. For some, Week 29 only comes every other year. Thank you Kim and Mitch for loaning your unit so my Grands could come down on their off year once again.
Evenings around our table and our gorgeous sunsets. The kids having such fun with the toys that shot into the air with lights.
Watching the progress my Grands made this week in their swimming.
Seeing my niece and great niece and sorry my sister was too ill from her chemo and radiation to join us for an afternoon.
Paddle board mini class with Jadee.
Marathon shopping with my daughter and DeeDee. We found tons of bargains!
And now for a slew of random pics.
Will post other photos when I find them...waiting on the Liam and Leighton shots from Jill. She got some great ones!
Miss you all and now on to Week 30 with our pals, Jo and Bill. Will this be the year Jo and I get our matching tats celebrating our 52 year friendship? You will just have to wait and see!

It's Beach Time
We have spent the past week in bliss (aka our time share on Ft. Myers Beach). We've kept ourselves busy visiting with our friends from when we lived here, soaking up some sun, and reuniting with our fellow time share pals.
We arrived last Sat. and the unit had been updated with new tables, chairs and lots of lovely extras. We were able to get in a couple of hours earlier than usual and it was a delight to get unpacked and moved in. What we did not expect was the marching band on the beach welcoming us...lol
The view from our lanai. It is always interesting for us to consolidate our lives to live for 3 wks. in our unit which is under 400sq.ft. Thoreau would be so proud of us, "Simplify, simplify, simplify!"
The usual afternoon showers have not resumed this week. We've had rain off and on during our week but that has not stopped us from having such a good week.
SAT. moved in, unpacked and headed to Matanza's for our early dinner. Glasses of wine on the beach.
SUN. morning walk (me), reading on the pool front patio, swim, rain drops, read on the lanai...
MON. pretty much like Sun. except we worked in a trip to the small outlet mall. Coldwater Creek is closing and I almost felt like I was robbing them with the little I paid for the amount of clothes I left with.
TUES. morning walk (me), did a bit of laundry, read by the pool and had our wonderful neighbors from when we lived here over for dinner. We are so fond of them and we had such fun living across the street from them.
WED. morning walk (me), got ready to meet my friend, Lynda, who lives here half the year at Owl and the Pussycat stamp art store for demo day and lunch. What a wonderful way to take a break from the beach and with such a delightful lady.
THURS. (today)morning walk, load of laundry, met Janet D (owner of Scrapbooks Etc. scrapbook company), Sonia (my bff from eons ago and who I swear never ages) and Barb (my roomie for years when we worked for Scrapbooks N Stickers here in Ft. Myers on the convention circuit). Laughs a minute and it is like not a day had passed since we met the last time. I call this our Yearly Reunion.
Tomorrow is Fri and our friends, Steve and DeeDee arrive from St. Louis. They have not used their unit in about 8 years and I think they are going to be delightfully surprised at how lovely the units are now. It is their anniversary so we'll head out for an early dinner to celebrate

I'll leave you with the technicolor sunset we had last night.

Happy 4th. of July
This year we broke a long standing tradition and, because of the heat, skipped the community picnic. Instead, Kristen and I took the kids to the new Splash Park that opened recently here in Tarpon Springs. The kids LOVED it.
Poor Landon played a bit too hard and hit his head on one of the fountains. He recovered but didn't feel much like playing for a while. Unlike their brother, Colvin and Leighton went to town at the park.
Back to Nana and Papa's house for some pool swimming and lunch then home for nap time. Leighton and her mama had on matching 4th. of July shirts and both looked tres chic.
The kids are heading to a town south of us with two of their family friends and their parents for fireworks later and E and will head to Capt. Jacks to watch from the second floor deck. We hope you all have a safe and happy 4th. Happy Birthday United States!
