Night on the Islands

Several times a year, our town has Night on the Islands down on the Sponge Docks, The street is closed down and the restaurants set up dock side cafes very much like the ones we ate at on Mykanos and many of our other Med cruise stops. There is Greek music and traditional dancing as well as the fantastic food. E had the calamari and I had the garlic roasted shrimp with both of us selecting the lemon garlic potatoes and salads for our sides. The sky was a show all its own, changing from blue skies and puffy white clouds to a dramatic navy blue when the rain clouds began to move in and the sun go down. The street lights twinkled, the music played, more and more people joined in the street dancing and we were content to watch and listen. Another lovely evening in our little slice of Paradise.
